Junior Data Analyst

job summary:
You will be a part of a remote, small, laser focused cyber security initiative utilizing the latest technologies to provide data analysis, dashboards and more to help Client mitigate malicious attackers infiltrating

assets.

The work you'll be doing will provide exposure to a diverse technology portfolio and hard problems. You'll be able to provide input on design decisions and help steer the direction of solutions our team will

provide.

You can expect clear direction, solid roadmaps and friendly people working with you on challenging problems.

Duties:

- As an analyst you'll be expected to participate in data design, implementation, stewardship and data systems operations.

- You'll be responsible for deriving meaningful insights from disparate data sources dealing with cyber security.

- Be able to create visuals to help communicate the meaningful impact of your analysis

- Assist in costing of infrastructure needed for data analysis systems and automation

Skills required:

- Demonstrates a "battle tested" background in data analysis, ETL, etc

- Recognizes data entities, patterns and anomalies

- Understands differences in (un)structured data

- Cozy with all kinds of data formats and sources, bad and good :)

- Confident usage of scripting languages and data analysis software to do on the fly data operations to answer tough questions

- Python

- R, Elk, MapR etc

- SQL, NoSQL (Mongo, Gremlin)

- Understand and be able to implement secure development practices (no secrets in code repo, use secure protocols, certificate backed environments etc)

- Git (know the basics of pull requests, branching, rebasing etc)

- Understand and participate in the code review process

- 2-3 years previous experience

- Basic office (word, excel, powerpoint) efficiency a must

Skills preferred:

- Linux familiarity (services, package management, light administration)

- .Net Core 2.* framework experience a plus

- Js, css and html5 web development a plus
