Data Analyst Admin

Job Description

The Data Analyst will be responsible for creating and maintaining reports for internal and external customers from multiple source systems; executing processes as required by Client's guidelines, researching and retrieving data, saving and maintaining files that contain PII for audit purposes. The Data Analyst will be accountable for understanding and operating a number of source systems that house data for various functional areas across US Life Companies, including, but not limited to, Operations, Distribution, Finance, and Actuarial. The Data Analyst will generate complete, accurate, timely and transparent reporting as required by various internal and external stakeholders, provide outcome of researched documents and store and maintain key documents according to client guidance.

Responsibilities

- Supports USLI functional areas by maintaining standard reporting (through existing dashboards or queries) and responding to internal and external ad-hoc requests.

- Executes processes that involve sensitive data to support day - to - day operational needs of client operations.

- Conducts research and provides masked outcomes for client teams to run actuarial models.

- Saves key files with sensitive data for audit purposes and maintains files structures to include removal of obsolete files as directed.

- Generates standard and ad-hoc reports, applying skill, judgment, and understanding of operational information and needs.

- Creates and then executes queries to download data from multiple source systems to create reports according to customer specifications.

- Delivers regular reporting and assists team leadership with analysis by mining, cleaning or aggregating data.

- Maintains existing reporting and dashboards by keeping refresh schedules, performing data auditing or revising queries as needed.

- Handle incoming ad-hoc analyses, data requests and other questions from key stakeholders.

- Keeping documentation on updates or changes to data sources, reporting or any other analysis.

- Reviews reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Required Qualifications

- Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience

- Strong customer focus with a passion for providing internal and external customers with responsive, high quality results

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little or no supervision following written guidance provided by the Client team

- Experience gathering information from multiple data sources using a variety of tools

- Inherent ability to streamline processes to reduce both time and effort while meeting required quality specifications.

- Ability to run SQL Code and have a basic understanding of coding

- Experience with Business Objects and Spotfire

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to see tasks and responsibilities through to completion

- Proficient in Microsoft Office products - including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint

- Effective communicator - verbal & written, formal & informal

Preferred Qualifications

- Database maintenance experience

- Ability to SQL code and/or write scripting

- Insurance industry experience, preferably exposure in life or long-term care insurance

- Insurance process and product knowledge
