Job Description:

  • Installs, configures, maintains and performs testing of various operating systems, related utilities, applications, and hardware.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting server-based hardware, operating system and software problems.
  • Monitors systems activities and fine tunes configuration to optimize performance.
  • Performs system utilization analysis to ensure systems are following best practices for security and utilization.
  • Develops procedures for routine administration including: design, patching, deploying software, implementing changes, and server configuration.
  • Provides recommendations for improving the server environment.
  • Provides on call 24x7 support on a rotating basis is required.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Perform complex server troubleshooting, updating, maintaining security compliance, client data protection services, and document creation
  • Leads deployment of new applications, application updates, security, updates/patches, and report creation
  • Acts as lead in project implementation when appropriate.
  • Leads installation, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and production release of new enterprise applications.
  • Scripts complex procedures and processes for automation.
  • Mentors team members supporting enterprise computing technologies, work priorities, project management, and customer service.
  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance with broad scope and high complexity
  • Performs assigned tasks of moderate to high complexity using established procedures, standards, and guidelines
  • Works independently or on multiple projects as a project team member, frequently as a project leader
  • Works on medium to large, complex projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments and knowledge of a specific business area
  • Coaches and mentors staff
  • Communicates new processes, conveys and gains support for making changes
  • Understanding business domain and makes realistic, feasible recommendations and facilitates implementation of effective solutions
  • Quickly understands the business issues of the organization.

Appian System Admin Resource Qualifications

  • The system administrator will act as a technical lead and will be responsible for performing and/or coordinating complex server troubleshooting, updating and maintaining security compliance on the servers, client data protection services and documentation.
  • Will lead/implement the deployment of the Appian application releases, upgrades and security updates/hotfixes/patches.

Required experience: ·

  • 4+ years of IT Lead experience.
  • Will act as a lead in project implementation when appropriate. ·
  • 2+ years of Appian Platform Administration Experience ·
  • Mentors team members supporting enterprise computing technologies, work priorities, project management, and customer service. ·
  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance with broad scope and high complexity ·
  • Performs assigned tasks of moderate to high complexity using established procedures, standards, and guidelines ·
  • Works independently or on multiple projects as a project team member, frequently as a project leader ·
  • Works on medium to large, complex projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments and knowledge of a specific business area ·

skills: Preferred Qualifications: ·

  • Passed the Appian Credential Exam ·
  • Experience in supporting VMWare ·
  • 2+ years of RedHat Linux System Administration ·
  • 2+ years of middleware (Weblogic) experience. ·
  • 2+ years of experience with Scripting complex procedures and processes for automation.
Education: ·

  • A minimum of bachelor's degree is required. ·
  • Concentration in computer science, engineering, design, or technical field is preferred.
