Oracle Hyperion Functional Analyst

job summary:
Position Description/Job Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for administrative technical support and business liaison of the Oracle Hyperion System. Inclusive of the following tools: Planning, Essbase, SmartView excel add-in and Shared Services (security).

The individual will be responsible for the application functional support from problem diagnosis and analysis through problem resolution. The candidate will have the understanding of how to successfully evaluate problems and develop appropriate solutions. Additionally, this position will analyze and help to design solutions to ensure that Hyperion Planning / Essbase system functionality aligns with business processes.

The individual will administer budgeting processes including updating web forms, prepping the system for user input, updating metadata on an ongoing basis and providing end-user support during the monthly/annual forecasting, maintain monthly Executive Flash reporting, perform application testing, and process documentation. The position requires collaboration with the HFM and DRM teams to support efficient data movement and data integrity between systems. The position will also work with the clients Hyperion Infrastructure/IT Support team to ensure coordination of outages and upgrades, Oracle account management support, and monthly hierarchy maintenance and user notification processes.

Requirements/Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelors or Master's degree in Information Systems, or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA a plus.

At least 5 years Hyperion Planning / Essbase experience, preferably in a support environment.

Recent experience with Oracle Hyperion version 11.1.2.4.X

Skills

Advanced knowledge of Oracle Hyperion Planning (web forms, calc manager, and security).

Advanced knowledge of Oracle Essbase (BSO / ASO cube design, load Rules, calculation scripts, partitioning, and Maxl Scripts).

Strong knowledge of financial systems, accounting, and business processes in corporate environment.

Strong Excel / Smart View analytical skills.

Experience in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), FDM / FDMEE, and DRM a plus.

Able to independently use advanced analytical skills in problem resolution.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and also as a team member in a high-energy environment and keep management adequately informed.

Possess self-motivation and a proven record of managing time and work.

Desire to partner with team to create and improve methodologies.
