Description:

  • Coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs.
  • Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and directs work of incumbents assigned to program from various departments.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Acts as advisor to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within program management.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of complex tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Typically reports to a unit/department head.
KEY DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • 40% - Lead and manage projects as assigned, both tactical and strategic
  • 40% - Deliver high quality artifacts and outcome through all phases of PMLC including Envision, Design, Build, and Activate as needed to realize measurable business results
  • 10% - Coach, guide, train project team members and other PMs on EDBA, PMLC and related artifacts and deliverables
  • 10% - Assist team members and research operational and performance data to provide statistics, trends, and reporting that inform leadership steering and decision-making, and as assigned
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

  • Undergraduate degree in business, technical, or aviation related discipline required
  • Project Management (PMI) Certification (Preferred)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Preferred)
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

  • Experience managing multiple large, complex projects across multiple functions
  • Experience managing and mentoring project management staff
  • Proven expertise successfully managing business and technical resources under an integrated project plan to ensure the alignment of resources
  • Experience presenting, escalating, and providing solutions to senior leadership
  • Demonstrated experience delivering measurable business benefit through project execution
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating, delegating and motivating cross functional groups or activities
  • Exposure with change management/facilitation, enterprise communication and training
  • Highly organized, and the ability to multi-task competing priorities
  • Provide leadership, guidance, influence and mentoring for project teams
  • Experience with process/system mapping and analysis
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities

EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years work experience
  • 5+ years managing projects
  • Demonstrated successful project delivery using fundamentals of PMBOK practices/methodologies
  • Demonstrated successful execution using SDLC, PMLC, DMAIC or DFSS methodology
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
  • Has discretion in making tactical decisions; provides input on strategic decisions to management as required. Decisions and achievement of results could have a significant impact on the group's overall performance. Effects could be long-lasting; expected to be creative to develop high-impact changes in processes or strategies.
**ADDITIONAL NOTES FROM HIRING MANAGER**

  • Responsible for attending meetings, taking notes, compiling and performing analysis on all data, information that will be used for reports - will be the OPM's right hand
  • Previous experience managing large projects ($2-5M) - will only be assigned this one project for now as it is a large, complex one in and of itself
  • Project is in Activate phase (for phase I) - will have a second phase, which will be inclusive of all new requirements gathered from field
  • Experience with EDBA, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies is extremely beneficial
  • Looking for a good mix of a technical/business PM, NOT heavily technical though!
  • Must be very analytical - a PM with strong business analysis skills is a plus
  • Strong leader, able to walk teams through each stage of lifecycle
  • Manager needs someone with a forward-thinking attitude who takes direction well, is independent, able to work with the team efficiently, and is dependable in front of the business
  • Good experience with Microsoft Office, Project, Agile tools, reporting tools, creating dashboard reports, spreadsheet analysis, etc.
  • Good listening skills required in order to prepare meeting minutes, capturing all essential points
  • Airline experience preferred, but not mandatory
  • Minimal travel anticipated
