Financial Analyst

job summary:
We have a 3 month renewable contract for a Financial Analyst with a client of ours in Cary, NC. Looking for someone to join the Analytics Operations team and handle financial management, reporting and analysis. Will be responsible for extracting data, reconciliations, PPT, graphs and process improvement in procurement. Must be strong with trend analysis, accounting including (payment, accruals, invoicing), status reporting and process improvement.

Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects within the information technology department. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project. Bachelor's degree and at least 3 to 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area is REQUIRED. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

- Required Skill

o Focused, organized and detail-oriented with a strong ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

o Monitoring expenses against budgets to identify potential overruns and excesses.

o Ability to extract data using available tools; comfortable with data manipulation functions in MS Excel

o Ability to absorb industry knowledge quickly, and have a strong desire to learn about energy-related issues.

o Excellent oral and written communications skills.

- Preferred Skills

o Monitor funding by reviewing burn rate, accruals, and expenditures.

o Providing metrics and analysis to support decision-making based on data

o Experience with Ariba, Beeline, Clarity, and data visualization tools

o Using managerial accounting systems to help decision makers manage cost and performance

o Support forecasting efforts by liaising with stakeholders to analyze financial data

o Support annual budget process through modeling and analysis
