Technical Writer

job summary:
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in business and functional requirements elicitation, translation and documentation

- Proven working experience in technical writing, preferably in the financial services and technology industries

- Knowledge of technical terminology and Data Quality concepts

- Ability to deliver high-quality documentation with high attention to detail in a short time frame

- Ability to effectively communicate in writing complex topics to a variety of audiences

- Ability to visualize key concepts in data governance, technology architecture and policy Strong relationship and communication skills in working with colleagues and influencing customers on recommendations and analysis.

- Ability to meet tight timelines and to work across a multi-geographic team - Understanding of online documentation presentation best practices.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple relationships across the organization, and at times with external parties and clients

- Excellent communication and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to clearly and persuasively communicate ideas, issues and recommendations to senior leadership.

- Track record of accomplishments, despite obstacles. Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Data Governance process and tools

- Financial services and product knowledge

- Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Visio, HP Quality Center, Expert Knowledge of Adobe Writer, MS PowerPoint and Visio

- Self-motivated, organized individual with an ability to work independently and within a team, build relationships, interact effectively with business partners, and recognize when to escalate issues.
