Sr. Oracle Database Developer

job summary:
As a Sr. Database Engineer, utilize your technical as well as leadership capabilities to design and develop high transaction Relational Databases, specifically Oracle both in datacenters as well as Private cloud to support critical client facing products

  • Challenge our current technology, processes and collaborate with other database engineers in optimizing our day to day operations centered around performance agility, quality and automation
  • Lead schema design, performance optimization, data migration, Patching and Disaster Recovery. Collaborate with System Architects, R&D and DevOps teams to help solve business problems from discovery to technical solution
  • Help us mature and execute our cloud strategy in AWS
  • Develop efficient automation in all aspects of database operations including database as a code, monitoring, installs and other repetitive maintenance
  • Mature and implement state of the art comprehensive monitoring across our product stack with a focus on consolidating key metrics and alerting from multiple tiers into a single target
  • Utilize your analytics and presentation skills to build and present meaningful data such as DB utilization trends, issue trends and other KPIs in the form of dashboards and reports
  • Research, propose, test and implement new technology as well as processes that support our organization strategy to optimize our operations
EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:

  • The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering great client experience and have a demonstrated ability to think strategically for solving business, product, and technical challenges within the organization
  • Highly technical and analytical, with a successful track record in implementation, operations and management of services high transaction Relational Databases both in datacenters as well as Private cloud to support critical client facing products
  • Very strong Oracle experience for both on premise and cloud implementations including AWS Database services such as Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon Aurora and Amazon Database Migration Services
  • In depth experience with Database, administration, performance tuning and troubleshooting in Oracle and one or more of the following: RDS, Elastic, Cassandra or MongoDB Demonstrated ability in designing High availability, large scale database systems
  • Strong experience and knowledge of database replications tools, process and services in both datacenters and Cloud
HOW YOU'LL STAND OUT:

  • Experience with "NoSQL Database" such as Elastic, Mongo-DB, Cassandra etc.
  • Hands on experience leading large-scale database projects
  • Executive speaking and presentation skills -- Formal presentations, white boarding, large and small group presentations
  • Track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of business environments such as large enterprises and start-ups. AWS Certifications, e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional highly desirable
