This position is within the Virtual Product Development team of IPSD-LE organization with a mission to provide a robust and reliable engine system offering founded on integration of simulation and lab/field testing (iModel).

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Three to five years engineering experience in diesel engine design/FMEA/simulation/test required.
Skills and Competencies:

  • Creativity, team player, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and process tools related to engineering field.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Creating and maintaining FEMAs for diesel engine sub systems

- Leading teams to develop robust simulation models, and helping with issue resolution, driving simulation led design

- Providing support for NPI issue management and working as liaison between the engine lab, the i-Model team, and design engineers to drive timely execution of engine validation activities and ensure effective communication of validation results

- Work closely with various engineers to analyze the failures from field (data analytics)

- Technical delivery, support and provide advice to other engineers and managers

Position's Contributions to Work Group:

  • Ownership of an engine subsystem validation (FMEA, validation plan etc.), NPI issues stakeholder updates, NPI/CPI issue resolution
Typical Day:

  • Creating and maintaining FMEA for engine subsystems, working with design and other validation engineers for various NPI programs, communicate technical information effectively with team members, internal customers, business leaders & process partners, stakeholder meeting updates
Critical Technical Skills:

  • Engineering process tools knowledge and computer applications.
  • Three to five years engineering experience required in diesel engine design/FMEA/simulation/test (combination of internship experience and hands on work experience).
Soft Skills Required:

  • Creativity, team player, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Office 365, project management, data analytics
