Exciting new VP level role that will be the first hire into our client's newly formed Equity Support Tools team. This team helps to drive all the business-aligned application support teams (High Touch, Electronic, Ultra Low Touch, Connectivity, Futures, Derivatives, Market Making, etc.) to be more self-capable to solve stability and supportability problems within production support.
The scope of the Tools Team will be
- Establish a Python Scripting program to train Equity support staff, assist by code review, and create library and frameworks for common problems that other support staff can leverage
- Train Equity support staff on GIT, JIRA and other development tools, and own these tools for the larger Equity support team
- Be the Center of Competency for Equity monitoring tools, such as App Dynamics and ITRS. Own the support of these tools and train other staff on their configuration and usage.

This is a hands on role with potential to manage other staff when the team expands. The candidate must be proficient in Python and experienced in teaching and helping others to improve. An important success measurement is the improvement of the larger support team.

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal client's Policies and Policy Standards.
The candidate should have at least 10 years of working experience in a financial company, 3+ years of Python programming experience. 5+ years of working with Linux, database SQL, networking.
skills: The candidate should have teaching and training experience to upskill other staff. The person must be able to create plans and execute, communicate to senior stake holders, influence development teams to focus on critical issues, work autonomously, navigate a complex organization.
