CRM Specialist

job summary:
Basic Function

The primary role of this non-exempt position is the management of the data contained in the content-enabled client relationship management (CRM) database and the efficient mining, reporting and use of competitive intelligence data to help drive the organizations overall marketing and business development efforts. Candidate will work in the Information Technology Department, liaising closely with the Business Development Department, to maintain data quality (primarily qualitative) for Windows and web-based versions of the contact database (InterAction). This position reports to the Director of Competitive Intelligence.

responsibilities:
Essential Duties

  • Perform complete, accurate and timely communications and information delivery to organization and client personnel, and other information services users.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance tasks such as reviewing and processing database user changes to contact data (changes to name, phone, address, email).
  • Perform database searches and audits to ensure data integrity; examine data for correctness and completeness; perform imports, exports and reporting as needed.
  • Identify and merge duplicates according to set procedures as well as using judgment to identify and correct records ad hoc.
  • Support staff with email and phone support in their use of database (web-based).
  • Coordinate with Helpdesk on user issues as necessary.
  • Perform user training as needed.
  • Support Business Development staff as power users of database (Windows version).
  • Assist with marketing lists, automated RSVP system and other ad hoc projects.
  • Support the use of CRM contacts and lists with e-marketing program to develop and send alerts and invitations.
Other Duties

  • Perform Internet research utilizing a variety of sources to validate and correct data.
  • Perform competitive and market intelligence research and data analysis support relating to clients, targets and personnel.

Specific Requirements:

  • College degree, bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Associates degree in technical field of study with combination of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience working with both a windows- and web-based CRM system, preferably in a professional services environment. Specific experience working with the InterAction tool is strongly preferred. Knowledge of database and data management principles and best practices.
  • Experience with Tikit or similar e-marketing software suite strongly preferred.
  • Strong data manipulation, computer and information management skills, including knowledge of databases and database administration. Strong reporting and data visualization skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel).
  • Strong grammar and typographical error identification skills. Attention to detail is critical.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations, oral and written communication skills required. Must have excellent customer service attitude and be comfortable communicating with all levels of staff and lawyers. Must also be able to translate technical solutions into layperson's language, and perform ad hoc training when necessary.
  • Must be self-motivated, self-learner, independent and able to work effectively with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to prioritize, organize, meet tight deadlines, and handle urgent interruptions in a professional manner.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
