Job Title: Network Security Administrator

Reports to: Chief Information Officer

Overview

The Network Security Administrator is responsible for day to day operations of the Security environment.

Responsibilities

The following statements are shown as general guidelines of the work in this job class and are subject to change depending on organizational need.

  • Represents the company with prospective clients by leading presentations on security processes. Must be able to communicate the technical aspects of security with a practical and customer focused delivery.
  • Interfaces with sales team to ensure security meets the specific requirements and expectations of client and that information is showcased accurately in RFP documents.
  • Must be customer service oriented and comfortable dealing with and resolving conflicts between security issues, user expectations, and security system services.
  • Leads all communications with customers for security response mediation.
  • Accountable for leading security audits.
  • Responsible for all technical aspects of security monitoring.
  • Identify threats and work to create steps to defend against them.
  • Perform vulnerability and penetration tests across all network segments.
  • Monitor network traffic for suspicious behavior.
  • Configure security systems such as firewalls, antivirus, and IDS/IPS software.
  • Create network policies and authorization roles for file access.
  • Analyze current security requirements and make suggestions for improvements.
  • Define disaster recovery plans.
  • Consult with staff, managers and executives on the best security practices.
Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications; typical communication duties include serving as a spokesperson for internal and external customers, handling crisis situations and assisting the sales and marketing teams with customer security responses and audits.
  • Must have strong customer and market facing capability.
  • Must be a great communicator and influencer internally and externally.
  • Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related areas/technical fields of study and/or relevant experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ Required
  • Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of senior security/network administration experience with Systems Administrator Experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, work efficiently and effectively using available tools and workflows.
  • Must demonstrate sound judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Possess knowledge of PCI/GDPR regulations and assist with any complaints or findings is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality/integrity/availability of sensitive information using CIA triad.
General skills:

  • Policy development and administration.
  • Planning and strategic management.
  • Leadership, collaboration and conflict resolution.
  • Accepted certification are:
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), issued by ISACA
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), offered by (ISC)2.
  • CompTIA Security+
Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/ or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • Job requires employee to sit for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area.
  • Repetitive motion, substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/ or fingers.
  • Typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers.
  • Must be able to comprehend instructions, interpret documents, and apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasks.
  • Job requires employee to preform basic arithmetic accurately and compute rates and percentages.
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
