Position is responsible for the preparation and review of data and financial information related to the royalty system with the intent of identifying and correcting underlying issues that would result in incorrect payments and royalty statement reporting to MHE Authors.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Describe the top five to ten essential accountabilities of this position that account for 5% or more of time spent on an annual basis or are critical to the successful performance of the job, starting with the essential accountability that you perform most frequently. I. Oversight



Daily review of inbound royalty transmittals from the different MHE Editorial teams submitted via the Royalty Transmittal application for products/contracts to be set up in the MHE Royalty System.



Monitor Contract Entry Team's workload to ensure compliance with established service level agreement timelines.





II. Liaise



Work directly with Contract Entry function to have identified data set up problems corrected in a timely and accurate manner.



Act as liaison for Author Relations function with Contract Entry for the correction of data set up, as uncovered by the Author Relations team.



Support the Royalty Contract Entry offshore team with any questions they may have when working on assigned transmittals, including interpretation



of publishing agreement and/or amendments associated with the program set up and how they are applied in the Royalty System.



Prepare and provide supporting information related to author requested audits of their account by author designated firms. This includes the research and accumulation of documentation related to the author account as well as the running of formal audit detail reports for preparation and submission to the author's designated firm/entity.





III. Escalate/Authorize



Escalate questions, issues, or unusual items to management for proper resolution. This includes to the Manager-Royalty Contract Entry and also includes the various Business Unit Editorial teams.





IV. Transform



Identify and present to manager ways to improve processes including new reporting/data analysis approaches.



Provide Support to Royalty Management related to special projects assigned.





V. Perform



Daily monitoring and follow up on Royalty Transmittals in the (a) Rejected Status: review and take necessary action to correct; and (b) Business Unit Approval Status: contact Business Unit Subject Matter Expert responsible for completing the review and approval step, in order to ensure timely completion.



Review of monthly unmatched sales results and take needed action on items under Royalty Operations responsibility to resolve. Identify key contacts at business unit and perform follow up and provide assistance to have business unit responsibility items resolved in a timely manner.

  • Update/Maintain documented Standard Operating Procedures as changes are implemented and to ensure all are updated/current on an annual basis.
