Network Systems Administrator

job summary:
Immediate need for a Network / Systems Administrator or engineer to join our team. We are looking for a creative, open-minded problem solver. Independence means thinking for yourself, so hearing the suggestions and thoughts you have is an important quality we are looking for.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintaining Microsoft Windows domain environment (workstations and servers):
  • Maintain Linux (Ubuntu / CentOS) Linux Environment
  • Windows Active Directory
  • Maintaining Microsoft SQL development and production environments.
  • The Company Intranets and the VPN servers
  • Virtualization technologies such as HA Virtualization clusters and virtual machines (VMWare)
  • Managing infrastructure (e.g., DNS, routing, VLANs, DHCP, VOIP)
  • Microsoft Exchange Hybrid deployment (Microsoft Exchange server 2013 and Office 365/Exchange Online)
  • Deployment and Automation (Scripting and Powershell)
Who Are We Looking For?

  • Experienced network engineer or systems administrator (Windows / Linux)
  • Flexible and willing to go with the flow
  • Willing to travel to other company sites to maintain infrastructure.
  • Driven and passionate - you will figure it out and you care about your work
  • Self-directed (time-management skills a must)
Skills and Experience:

  • Network engineering proficiency (subnetting, network design and debugging)
  • Infrastructure and system services (BIND DNS, DHCP, NTP, VOIP, etc)
  • Familiar with revision control (SVN)
  • Capable and competent in debugging system and network issues
  • Interested in learning new things, capable of figuring out the pieces with minimal direction
  • Understanding of core networking concepts and systems administration.
  • Security-focused perspective
  • Solid documentation skills
  • Experience with enterprise virtualization very desirable
  • Disaster Recovery (DR) and Incident Response skills
  • Experience with SQL, MySQL a plus
  • Familiarity with Project and Document Management systems a plus
  • Penetration testing skills a plus, security skills a plus
Educational Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Computational Sciences,
  • IT/MIS or related field preferred (but not required)
  • Any Cisco Certification is a major plus
