Manual QA/Support Analyst

job summary:
Provide front-line primary application/solution support to end users on various technical issues and problems relating to the Fusion application (Proprietary digital freight matching software). Responsible for responding to, troubleshooting, and resolving system problems. Develop and execute test plans supporting Fusion enhancements to meet product requirements ensuring all releases are deployed to production with no issues.

responsibilities:
- Support system software upgrades through functionality and regression testing

- Provide timely assistance to users in resolving system functionality/performance issues according to defined SLAs.

- Perform in a support capacity; escalate issues and work with the appropriate teams to resolve the issue; owns the issue all the way to resolution

- Ability to effectively troubleshoot issues to drive to the root cause

- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support coverage

- Define, document, and improve Quality Assurance testing plans standards, tools, procedures, and guidelines with defined benchmarks and measures while considering manual, automated, and framework based testing options

- Work with internal users to create and execute detailed test cases that clearly articulate steps and expected results to meet test objectives; work with external vendors to define unit and regression test scripts to ensure quality base product

- Identifies and/or creates test data following data compliance standards and requirements.

- Work closely with management to articulate QA results so that decisions can be made based on quantifiable QA test data and the potential risks from exceptions or corner cases

- Maintain a solid understanding of the product architecture and integrated systems to comprehend the requirements and incorporate them into the QA plans to develop a formal QA testing program

- Identify appropriate test strategies, test environment requirements and activities based on application-specific technical and functional characteristics

- Establish standards for reporting/tracking of defects and their resolution and storing test evidence

- Maintains and updates test documentation, user guides and help note to ensure accuracy of applications and related documentation.

- Designs and builds a regression test bed of repeatable test sets/test cases.

 
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities

- Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies

- Strong knowledge of software design and SDLC

- Strong documentation skills

- Experience with an Agile approach where requirements, programming, and testing are often done concurrently

- Experience with automated testing tools a plus (Ex: Selenium)

- People skills - the ability to establish effective working relationships across multiple groups (support groups, internal customers, external customers)

- Communication skills - excellent oral and written communications

- Excellent organizational skills - ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks/meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- 1-3 years' work experience with the MercuryGate TMS or other applicable TMS/Logistics operating systems a plus

- 1-3 years' work experience in logistics or transportation industry a plus
