  • Project Overview Made for Google team is looking for a test engineer to help test 3rd party products for compatibility with Google hardware.
  • Duration March August 2019 (6 months) May be extended if needed

work hours: 9am to 6pm

  • Testing services Perform testing on Made for Google 3P accessories Create test reports and analyze test results
  • Work with Google engineering on root cause/corrective action for 3P Partners products
  • Communicate results and suggested corrective actions to 3P Partners Support testing on 1P accessories where needed Partner management
  • Work with partners on product sample availability for pre-testing and certification testing Lead cross-functional communication between
  • Google engineering and external partners. Understand technical issues and drive them to closure by bringing together key stakeholders for decision making.
  • Device management Inventory and manage all Google HW devices for testing Upgrade software / flash as needed to keep up to date (Chrome OS experience a plus)
  • Pick up / deliver samples as needed to partners or internal teams (eg: audio testing, etc)
  • Onsite lab Manage lab schedule for partner testing Manage all visiting partners for access, lab tours, badges
  • BS degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent practical experience

Mandatory Required Skills:

  • BS degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent practical experience
  • 1-4 years of experience in HW or SW Engineering USB Type C specification knowledge
Desired Nice to Have Skills/Not Required:

  • Consumer electronic hardware experience, ideally with some experience in the accessories industry
  • Experience with Linux, Python, USB Type C Power Delivery, USB Type C Audio, RF Design, and/or IOT.
  • Self-starter with ability to conceive of and accept responsibility for projects and see them through to completion, must be able to to work as individual contributor and to contribute as part of a larger team
  • Deadline and detail-oriented.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people and job functions.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a fast-paced team
