Description:

The Functional Test Engineer will work independently to design and develop automated software test programs, test adapters, cabling and all associated documentation in support new TPS development as well as TPS conversions from legacy platforms. The Functional Test Engineer will be responsible for the development, test, integration and validation of all deliverables such as hardware, software and documentation to support TPS services. TPS's will consist of Digital, Analog and high speed bus design.

Primary responsibilities include generating test software to run on ATE platforms. Working with test adapter suppliers to develop mechanical concepts and customer required documentation packages for high quality test adapters. Final integration and validation of the TPS with formal ATP signoff at the Customer facility.

The candidate will possess good communication skills and be able to work in a dynamic team environment. The candidate will work with the TPS team, Program team, Sales and interface with the Customer including providing inputs to technical presentations, telecoms, leading formal reviews and input on TPS quoting.

Responsibilities:

As a Functional Test Program developer, you will take part in the following responsibilities;

· Complete Test Program Set (TPS) development activities, from conceptual stage through life cycle of product, including planning, development, testing, and integration. Interpreting test requirements and documenting the complete test solution.

· Ensure customer test requirements are met and processes are followed

· Designing sophisticated analog and digital test interfaces to implement switching, filtering, signal conversion, and other functions

· Track changes made to hardware, software, firmware, documentation, test fixtures and test documentation throughout the delivery cycle.

· Work closely with customers and/or functional peer group managers

· Follows standard engineering practice and procedures. Analyze data, and design hardware/software solutions for which industry standards exist.

· Develop/integrated a Functional Test Program utilizing instrumentation such as, eDigital, FOXI,PBI, M9, DI, BTI and ATI. Utilize software tools such as, TPS Convertor Studio, LASAR, TestStand,LabView, LabWindows CVI, ATLAS and Test Studio

  • Integrate input from various sources to propose solutions
  • Communicate periodic project assessment to internal teams and external customers
  • Devise innovative techniques for testing and characterizing leading edge technology.
  • Identify trends in customer TPS development to help guide the development of new Teradyne ATE instrumentation
  • Desire to work with customers and field applications group to solve testing challenges
  • Travel to customer sites to support pre-sales opportunities, progress reports and final integration
