Actuarial IT Compliance Support

job summary:
The IT Actuarial Service and Solutions team is looking for a detail oriented team player with good documentation and organization skills. Ideal candidate will be a quick learner with an interest in audit and/or IT security.

Duties and responsibilities

The Actuarial IT Compliance Support team member will be responsible for completing various audit and governance activities, capturing required evidence, documenting each activity in the appropriate format/detail and submitting the completed audit package to experienced GNW Actuarial IT team members for review. Documentation may also be shared with Internal or External Audit teams as required after approval by GNW Actuarial IT Team Members. Audit and governance activities supported by this person will include, but are not limited to: Sarbanes Oxley, HIPAA, Regulatory Reviews and internal GNW attestations. Documentation templates and suggested formats will be provided. The Compliance Support person will work with existing team members to determine scope, detailed tasks and documentation required. You may be asked to accompany GNW Actuarial IT team members to meetings where audit documentation and details are being discussed.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Windows, with specific emphasis on Microsoft Office applications (proficient in Excel).
  • Technical aptitude - comfortable manipulating between various systems and applications to complete tasks.
  • Detail oriented individual with strong interpersonal communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • Good organization skills are a must to ensure all documents include required supporting evidence, reviews are completed in a timely fashion and approvals are requested/received as mandated.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team or individually; able to manage personal tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude, execution focused.
Preferred Qualifications but not required:

  • 1 or more years of audit or compliance support (including positions in change management or access provisioning)
  • Familiarity with IT processes such as change control, access provisioning, and the tools used for documentation and approvals within these processes.
  • Basic understanding of IT Security principles and controls, including access controls and version control tools.
  • High level understanding of the requirements mandated by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Exposure to an enterprise corporate IT environment, with some knowledge of server hardware, storage solutions, network architecture, Active Directory and network file share permissions.
  • Exposure to and/or experience supporting IT applications and/or COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) software.
