IT Budget Analyst

Our client, a Financial Services firm in Midtown NY is looking for a IT Budget Analyst with Cloud cost analysis and budget forecasting experience to join the IT Infrastructure Group. This role will be responsible for Capital and Operational budgeting for Cloud services, Hardware, Software and other IT related expenses.

The candidate will also be responsible for running the asset management policy and procedure. Forecasting and delivering cost optimization recommendations, particularly around cloud based solutions will be a primary focus. A second aspect of managing the budget includes regular re-forecasting budgets in partnership with various IT teams and the Finance team. You will also be involved in the administration of software licensing compliance. The right candidate will possess strong project and process management skills with the ability to handle a wide range of tasks.

  • Experience with AWS cost optimization tools, highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and extremely well-organized

  • Familiar with a variety of IT financial management concepts, practices and procedures as it relates to IT financial planning

  • BS in information technology, computer science, finance or business management
  • Working knowledge of JIRA Confluence and CMDB solutions, a plus
  • Provide financial analysis support on budgeting and technology spend, delivering cost reduction suggestions
  • Develop integrated budget to actual analyses, projections, reports and presentations
  • Collect, synthesize, organize, and manage financial data captured in support of IT business units
  • Maintain responsibility for monitoring Cloud infrastructure costs and assist with developing technical strategic direction with the Cloud Engineering team
  • Perform infrastructure billing and optimization activities, maintaining cost information using Amazon Web Services, third-party, or custom tools, and preparing forward looking cost estimations
  • Knowledge about compliance monitoring and reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to software licensing
  • Build metrics to validate company is receiving the best value from our partners
  • Perform global inventory audits supporting compliance management
  • Enter pertinent data into asset management system and monitor equipment life cycles
  • Prepare reports to assist with forecasting and planning of equipment refresh initiatives
  • Liaise with Information Technology Teams, Business Stakeholders, and Senior Management to define project scope and objectives
  • Assist with technical feasibility, implementation approach, deployment strategies, and communication strategies
