Position Description:

  • As a Music Analyst on the Google Play & YouTube partnerships team, you will be working with multiple stakeholders internally and externally to define metrics and deliver insightful analysis in a clear and concise way.
  • You will be responsible for translating data into meaningful analysis and conclusions and where relevant, implement process improvements. Additionally, you will translate business needs and objectives into questions of data.
  • The metrics and analyses you develop will serve as a key input in marketing, partner facing decisions and artist outreach.
  • You will work collaboratively across Google Play and YouTube (e.g., Engineering, Product Management (PM), Business Development, Merchandising, PR, Marketing).

  • You will be responsible for translating data into meaningful analysis and conclusions and where relevant, implement process improvements. Additionally, you will translate business needs and objectives into questions of data.
  • The metrics and analyses you develop will serve as a key input in marketing, partner facing decisions and artist outreach.
  • You will work collaboratively across Google Play and YouTube (e.g., Engineering, Product Management (PM), Business Development, Merchandising, PR, Marketing).
 
qualifications:
Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience with an emphasis on work of a quantitative nature 3 years of work experience as an analyst or in a quantitative marketing role Database query experience (e.g., Dremel and SQL languages).
  • Experience working with large and multiple datasets/data warehouses and ability to pull from such data sets using SQL and scripts.
  • Strong business acumen and experience with datasets to construct data analysis in order to answer business questions.
  • Experience analyzing data and using spreadsheets and pivot tables to build reports and presentations.
 
skills: Desired:

  • Proven experience in identifying opportunities for business improvement and defining/measuring the success of those initiatives.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to deliver findings of analysis.
  • Experience working with data visualization tools
  • A deep understanding of technology and its impact on media consumption
  • Experience conducting Music industry analysis or experience working in/for a Music company
