CIP Database Vulnerability Analyst

job summary:


Duties:



Open to Bloomfield as work location.



The CIP Database Vulnerability Analyst is responsible for ensuring operational excellence of cyber security vulnerability management activities, including but not limited to:



  • Coordinating daily database vulnerability assessments, interpreting the scan results and driving the remediation of detected vulnerabilities.
  • Publishing high risk vulnerabilities to the teams responsible for fixing the vulnerabilities, while and tracking and reporting the remediation progress, dates, and plans.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in Database vulnerability management while engaging with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding vulnerabilities well enough to be able to advise on proper remediation and mitigation solutions. Databases platforms assessed include, but are not limited to; Mongo, UDB, DB2, Oracle, SQL, and Sybase.
  • Supporting CIP strategies and reporting.






Skills:





  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior experience operating and managing a vulnerability management tool.
  • Strong knowledge industry standards regarding vulnerability management including Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) and Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS)
  • Ability to explain highly-technical Cybersecurity concepts in a way non-technical staff can understand.
  • Ability to ensure activities are in alignment with the business objectives and risk management framework.
  • Conflict management, problem solving, customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong meeting facilitation skills.
  • Have a 'can do' positive attitude and comfortable in high pressure situations.
  • Team player with proven ability to manage working relationships within a matrix organization
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with IBM Guardium would be beneficial, but not required.
  • Prior DBA experience is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in documenting and tracking identified risks through to closure, including working with other departments as may be required.
  • 3+ years of experience working on or closely with an information protection or cyber security team. Knowledge of core security principals, frameworks and risk models.
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM or equivalent is desired.
