Email Marketing Manager - Director Level Role

job summary:
Our client, a major retail distribution company is looking for a Email Marketing Manager that will lead the team responsible for the companies email marketing program across all channels. This role will be responsible for developing the overall strategies and everyday deployment tactics to deliver best-in-class email marketing experiences. The Email Marketing Manager will continually leverage customer insights to further improve email acquisition, segmentation, personalization, re-engagement and automation tactics. In addition, the ideal candidate must have experience developing and leading a team.

responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the email marketing program; including developing the marketing calendar, template creation, targeting, deployment, optimization, reporting and analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align channel objectives
  • Oversee email segmentation, targeting, and lead nurture strategies
  • Grow email acquisition strategy through in store and on-site capture, promotions and other marketing channels.
  • Responsible for income/expense budgets to support email marketing programs and third party on site advertising
  • Develop, implement and manage programs to deliver personalized item recommendations across all banners and channels
  • Coordinate efforts with third party data vendors, focused on new customer prospecting
 
qualifications:
  • Supervisory experience managing teams
  • 5+ years of experience in email marketing and CRM
  • Out of the box thinking; willingness to experiment and try new ideas
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication, research and analysis skills required
  • Managing and directing vendors / supplier experience
  • Knowledge of email HTML and experience building responsive email templates a plus
  • Bachelors degree required, Advanced degree preferred
 
skills:
  • Experience with customer-event-driven, personalized campaigns (transactional and/or behavior-triggers) and dynamic content
  • Ability to manage and adjust budget based on trends and program
  • Ability to lead a team and advise associates on topics ranging from email acquisition, consumer personalization, monetization and overall business strategy
  • Working knowledge of email platform, including but not limited to Silverpop Marketing Automation
  • Adheres to project plans, deadlines
