Calibration & Maintenance Technician

job summary:
Randstad Technologies is currently seeking a Calibration & Maintenance Technician that will support the R&D department in the maintenance and calibration of test equipment utilized in the development of medical devices. You will be operating instruments, track test results, and troubleshoot when problems arise. You will also maintain equipment, including ordering parts and directing or performing preventative and repair maintenance as needed, as well as maintaining logs and write reports of activity results and equipment maintenance.

-Test equipment coordination and maintenance - skilled in pneumatic, mechanical and electrical test instrumentation; thorough understanding of calibration concepts and requirements including measurement uncertainty and accuracy testing.

-Work closely with manufacturing/calibration teams and process quality engineers/R&D teams to complete calibration requests, and define calibration specifications and frequency.

-Good understanding and application of test instrument, equipment and calibration parameters for use in R&D, manufacturing, and laboratory environments.

-Maintains test inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory and helps R&D staff to find equipment as needed.

-Perform equipment shipment activities and maintains good documentation practices.

-Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed - Conduct dry run testing of software validation test cases and tools.

  • 3-5 years professional experience in test equipment management - calibration, inspection, measurement, and testing techniques is necessary.
  • Experience working with Equipment maintenance systems and software (computerized maintenance management system, laboratory information management system, etc.)
  • Proficient usage of Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to handle and move equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Electronics and/or other technical field or Equivalent test and equipment coordination experience. Quality Systems Certification/Certified Calibration Techs certification is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to handle and move equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
