Senior Change Manager

Drives standardized methods, documentation and procedures for efficient and quality handling of all application-related changes, in order to minimize the impact of change related problems upon the service quality. Partners closely with Applications team, Infrastructure, and the broader Application Production Support team to minimize the impact of application-related changes.

Education and Experience

Required:

  • 8+ years' experience in information technology process and/or project management across diverse areas and technologies.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification
Preferred:

  • Broad technical acumen across multiple disciplines & applications with a solid understanding of current technologies
  • 5 years in a technical discipline role with experience in planning, implementing and evaluating processes, systems and/or initiatives
  • Experience in software development across multiple programming languages and methodologies
  • Experience applying measurement processes/methods for assessing program outputs and outcomes or progress toward goals and objectives.
  • Certifications (e.g., ITSM, ITIL, COBIT, PMP)
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries, to help lead and influence change
  • Ability to command the process across all levels to ensure customer focus; including being assertive and self-starting
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in influence and garnering alignment from external organizations
  • Ability to align change management strategies with project
  • Skilled in conceptualizing creative solutions, documenting them, and presenting/selling them to senior management
  • Extremely high level of analytical ability with complex problems
  • Very high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work output in a team environment
  • Proven experience, knowledge and demonstration of continuous process improvement
Change Management Operations

  • Partners with ITSM team to define and refine change management process for application-related changes
  • Establishes and operates change intake mechanism and reviews change requests, ensuring that all requests are complete, accurate, and follow established processes and procedures.
  • Works with teams to assess impact of requested production changes on business operations and develops and administers a project-specific change management strategy to minimize that impact.
  • Ensures compliance of change and backout plans to policy and application requirements
  • Monitors change-related projects to ensure adherence to plan. Provides leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to team members on the Change Process.
  • Acts as the application sponsor to all Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to ensure effective governance of change requests. Issues CAB minutes and action items and creates follow-up plans
  • Works with teams on any failed changes to ensure issues are corrected and resubmitted for approval
  • Updates the ITSM change management system with all progress that occurs, including any actions to correct problems and/or to take opportunities to improve service quality. Develop and maintain Change Management Charters, Terms of Reference and change management processes
  • Develop and prepare monthly change summary and metrics reports
  • Collaborates with Enterprise Application and Architecture and Infrastructure teams to continuously improve processes and procedures.
  • Liaises with vendors and Service Providers to select services and tools that best meet company goals
  • Follows all defined IT standards and processes, and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed
  • Maintains a proper balance between business and operational risk
  • Follows the defined project management standards and processes
