A client of ours in San Antonio, Texas is looking for a Lead .Net Developer for a contract to possible hire opportunity. Qualified candidates will have the following qualifications:

Summary:

The Lead Developer is an experienced software development expert who will be responsible for leading efforts including analyzing, developing, implementing, and maintaining computer software applications for business users. This position develops, supports, maintains, enhances, and documents applications for client Medical Management. This position supervises and mentors information technology Applications Development staff and is responsible for leading larger projects as well as performing short term assignments as needed

Job Duties:

  1. Analyzes, develops, and implements computer application enhancements for end users.
  2. Performs all tasks in the development life cycle including requirements analysis, design, development, and testing.
  3. Utilizes available programming methodologies and languages and adhere to coding standards, procedures and techniques while contributing to the technical code documentation.
  4. Provides leadership to senior-level and entry-level Applications Developers. Interfaces with management to provide metrics, quality assurance, and performs peer review on all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
  5. Gathers, understands, and documents user requirements and technical specifications.
  6. Supports existing applications including developing fixes as necessary and providing support for complex issues.
  7. Creates and maintains documentation for application portfolio.
  8. Evaluates impact of new systems and applications on business operations and assists management plan for product enhancements, replacements, and other activities.
Required skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related, technical field required. (Four additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree).
  • Six to ten years of systems design and applications development experience.
  • Experience leading software development activities.
  • Expert knowledge with one or more of the following: Visual Studio, C#, Visual Basic, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Reporting and Integration Services, Web Services, etc.
  • Ability to plan, implements, test, and troubleshoot complex technology, software, and system solutions. Ability to effectively work with people in other departments and/or outside of the enterprise.
Preferred skills:

  • Graduate-level study in Computer/Management Information Systems (CIS/MIS) or equivalent work experience.
  • MCSE certification.
  • Experience working in a Medicare, health plan or physician group environment.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and healthcare information exchange (HIE) technologies.
  • Experience working with service-oriented architecture (SOA).
  • Ability to review, critique, and perform analysis and design of systems and/or programs.
  • Ability to generate and test program code utilizing Microsoft technologies. Experience with established peer review and quality assurance processes and willingness to lead such activities.
  • Ability and proven experience documenting application program code (technical documentation) and application functionality (end-user documentation for business users). Ability to supervise and mentor other developers.
