Business Analysts provide requirements management including developing technical solutions to business problems, or to advance a company's sales efforts, begins with defining, analyzing and documenting requirements.

Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in an actual Business Analyst role.
  • Clear and precise writing and oral communication skills
  • At least 1-2 years of insurance industry (preferably property and casualty) in a BA or technical role.
  • GuideWire Policy Center experience a plus-not required
  • Experience in working with internal and external clients as well as on and offshore.
  • Work to understand business issues and elicit, analyze, and validate business requirements.
  • Develops functional and non-functional requirements to deliver business solution.
  • Create/complete project charters for automation projects. Understand/define business problem. Validates project scope.
  • Capture/document requirements based on development methodology used for the business system.
  • Document needs, expectations, and constraints.
  • Develops/analyze business requirements.
  • Completes activities according to best practices, standard operating procedures, and team member guidance.
  • Documents relationship among allocated requirements.
  • Identifies and develops requirements for interfaces.
  • Acts as a knowledge source for architects, developers and testers.
  • Manages requirements scope/changes.
  • Identifies project work and requirements inconsistencies.
  • Assesses change requests
  • Collaborates with testing lead to develop requirements-based testing considerations and strategies.
  • Manages defects and resolves problems as needed
  • Maintains awareness of technology trends/vendor applications in the market.
  • Identifies/communicates with stakeholders.
  • Defines roles and responsibilities of stakeholders.
  • Develops estimates for business analysis tasks.
  • Plans how requirements will be approached, traced, and prioritized.
  • Implements ways to reuse requirements across projects.
  • Assists in determining metrics for monitoring business analysis work.
  • Mentors less experienced business analysts.
