Data Analyst

job summary:
Title: Data Analyst

Location: Germantown, MD

Duration: 6 months contract to hire

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain analytic systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks
  • Work closely with project managers to understand and maintain focus on their analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers
  • Work directly with management and users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships
  • Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex data sets
  • Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for data sets
  • Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization
  • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, developing and maintaining protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data
  • Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity
  • Responsible for ad-hoc analysis to answer specific questions
  • Will be required to use PowerBI OR Tableau to create the necessarily analysis.
  • Responsible to monitor the SSRS jobs to make sure that the data available for running on time etc.
  • Will be required to support executives and support personnel who will be interacting with the stakeholders (2000 employees who get this monthly bonus)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to speak, write, and read English fluently; ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities
  • Strict confidentiality with sensitive information and records
  • Proficiency in computer software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision making to achieve department and organizational objectives
  • Ability to maintain partnerships with operations and hiring authorities, as well as outside vendors and clinical candidates
  • Ability to travel as needed
Education & Experience:

  • The above knowledge, skills and abilities may be demonstrated with a Bachelor degree or similar education.
  • One or two years of experience as a project manager or analyst is preferred.
