Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer

Summary: The IT department for the organizatoin is currently recruiting for a Cyber Security Engineer. This crucial role will be responsible for protecting information technology assets by establishing and enforcing access controls, coordinating response to information security incidents, and researching and maintaining awareness of the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities. This person will work with the Information Security Team to verify that all the necessary technical security requirements are met, automate information security processes, and plan, develop, and coordinate cyber security projects. As a member of the Information Security Team, this individual will assist with facilitating the use of technology to ward off attempts by hackers who are targeting sensitive citizen and corporate information.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Advise the Chief Security Officer on cyber security issues related to the systems and workflow at the organization to ensure the internal and external security controls for the organization are appropriate and operating as intended.

Coordinate response to cyber security incidents.

Assist with maintenance and monitoring of the cyber threat management practice.

Produce cyber security architectures and documentation.

Coordinate and execute IT security projects.

Track project-related tasks in project timesheet.

Manage remediation plans for any gaps reported in audits or recommended process improvements.

Collaborate with IT management and the Enterprise Applications division to manage security vulnerabilities or investigations.

Review client and vendor contracts and agreements for adherence to security provisions and make recommendations for verbiage changes if needed.

Conduct security research in keeping abreast of latest security issues.

Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


Extensive experience developing IT architectures.

Extensive experience balancing multiple IT project simultaneously.

Working knowledge of basic red team tools such as Nmap, Nessus, metasploit, or other related tools.

Working knowledge of network concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

CISSP certification

Experience working in a red team or penetration testing capacity

Minimum Qualifications:

Baccalaureate degree in a directly related field with 3 years' experience or an Associate's degree in a directly related field with 5 years' experience.

5+ years of experience developing secure IT architectures.

5+ years managing IT projects.
