ServiceNow Developer

job summary:
The Senior ServiceNow Developer has oversight over the ServiceNow platform for Academic Administration. The developer will design, build, and configure applications in ServiceNow platform to automate business processes.

responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities: - Facilitate and support the rollout of new application and enhancements in ServiceNow.

  • Advise functional and administrative teams on design, development and overall ServiceNow best practices.
  • Work with functional and admin teams to deliver automated workflow solutions in ServiceNow.
  • Develop ServiceNow software solutions and Service Portal pages using JavaScript, AngularJS, Bootstrap, Jelly, one or more Web Services, MYSQL, XML, HTML and CSS.
  • Analyze, understand, and provide requested enhancements to existing ServiceNow applications.
  • Advanced scripting of business rules, UI Policies, Client Scripts, ACLs, Workflow Activities, etc.
  • Provide advanced support for ServiceNow by troubleshooting, fixing bugs and conducting root cause analysis.
 
qualifications:
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • ServiceNow Developer Certification.
  • Two or more years of experience writing and debugging JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and project management methodologies.
  • Experience with REST API development.
  • Experience writing and debugging JavaScript.
  • Experience with Single sign-on using SAML 2.0 and Web Services integrations.

skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Three or more years of relevant ServiceNow experience.
  • ServiceNow Administrator Certification.
  • ServiceNow experience administering the platform, monitoring performance, deploying applications, building out catalog items/workflows, and configuring integrations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of secure software development.
  • Advanced skills associated with software design, modification, implementation and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated broad problem solving skills.
  • Thorough experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums.
  • Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated software repository skills. Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Skill in listening, anticipating, and responding to the needs of users, providing exceptional customer service skills measured by outcome rather than activities, including tact, diplomacy, and effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills that facilitate professional, effective, and courteous interaction with a diverse population.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Demonstrated communication skills for group activities including expressing ideas effectively, seeking and respecting the opinion of others, active listening, and willingness to share ideas. Demonstrated ability to improve processes by assessing procedures, seeking information and opinions, developing and implementing changes as appropriate.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretionary practices. Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, reliability, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.
