Our highly recognized is looking for an experienced Lead / Sr. Infrastructure Engineer. This is a direct hire, permanent position at their data center in Bridgeport, CT. Candidates must have 7-10 years experience in design, engineering and administration of network and firewall infrastructure This position is responsible for the maintenance and development of the organization's technical infrastructure on 24/7/365 basis. In addition, this position leads high impact and complex projects, acts as a resource to junior staff members, researches and recommends technology tools and products and architects enterprise class solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, defines, creates and maintains the organization's technical infrastructure within respective computing environments. Analyses, tests and implements physical infrastructure design supporting various business applications. Architects enterprise class solutions
  • Analyze, review and design enterprise class network systems based on industry experience, research, vendor interaction, proof of concepts and labs.
  • Setup and configure network hardware, operating systems, applications, utilities, services, and other related network infrastructure for technology refresh activities as well as projects.
  • Upgrade, maintain, and administer existing network infrastructure including switches, routers, proxy servers, firewalls, load balancers, SDWAN appliances, VPN devices, DNS/DHCP servers, VoIP Infrastructure, and IDS/IPS devices.
  • Monitor the bank's network infrastructure. Install, maintain and administer network analysis and management tools.
  • Provide 24 x 7 x 365 network support. Work closely with various IT teams, business areas and service providers to troubleshoot and resolve a range of network related issues affecting the performance and stability of the bank's lines of business applications in a timely manner.
  • Maintain network infrastructure security using internal policies, standards and procedures for patching and configuration compliance. Perform periodic audit and security related tasks designed to ensure role-based access to the bank's network environment.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, standards, procedures, policies, diagrams, proposals, security documentation, troubleshooting guides, inventory lists, and resource plans. Adhere to network documentation and policies.
  • Acts as a resource to Infrastructure Engineers and Sr Infrastructure Engineers.
  • Provide ongoing tactical and strategic input for network planning and related projects.
  • Excellent project management and research skills with a demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception through completion.
  • Specific areas of responsibility include LAN, WAN, network management, authentication administration, IDF/Distribution/Core layers, disaster recovery, VPN, internet routers, DMZ switches. Knowledge of Firewalls, Load Balancers, SDWAN Technologies, Cisco ACI, SSL VPN, IP Telephony systems, and Proxy are a plus.
