Our highly recognized client is looking for an experienced Lead Security Engineer. This is a direct hire, permanent position at their data center in Bridgeport, CT. Candidates must have 6-8 years' experience in design, engineering and administration of security technologies, preferably in the banking/finance industry. The ideal candidate will not only have an in-depth expertise in Security platforms and concepts, but also possess a strong understanding of infrastructure services and technology. In addition, this position leads high impact and complex projects, acts as a resource to junior staff members, researches and recommends technology and architects enterprise class solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, evaluates and recommends different cutting edge security technologies to implement business goals. Creates proposals, project plans, configuration and schematic diagrams and technical documents; makes presentations to a diverse audience with decision making latitude.
  • Designs, maintains, monitors and enhances the assigned security infrastructure, including security applications, patch remediation, performance monitoring, backups and restarts, service pack and operating system upgrades. Performs capacity planning, forecasting and workload modeling.
  • Provides a high level of technical support in the planning, coordination and implementation of releases, upgrades or changes to the system software. Collaborates with other information technology centers of excellence to contribute expertise in solving problems with production, system performance and tuning.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, standards, procedures, policies, diagrams, proposals, security documentation, troubleshooting guides, inventory lists, and resource plans. Adhere to published documentation and policies.
  • Provide 24 x 7 x 365 support. Work closely with various IT teams, business areas and service providers to troubleshoot and resolve a range of security related issues affecting the performance and stability of the bank's lines of business applications in a timely manner.
  • Point of escalation for unauthorized internal and external systems and access attempts with recommended remediation as needed. Investigate security incidents and recommend actions needed to resolve issues as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Information Security and Enterprise Architecture teams to gather requirements and develop security solutions based on security policies and standards.
  • Acts as a resource to Infrastructure Engineers and Sr. Infrastructure Engineers.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices in systems security and adapt company polices/practices as needed.
Requirements

  • Experience configuring/administrating a broad spectrum of infrastructure security technologies including SIEM, CASB, NAC etc.
  • Experience in implementation of cloud security solutions is a major plus
  • Exposure to Proxy configuration / management and RegX experience a plus.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Deep understanding of core security technologies such as vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection/prevention, auditing principles, SDLC, host/network security.
  • Experience with Next Gen firewall platform, security policy setups, Advanced Threat Protection, IPS etc.
  • Extensive experience implementing/deploying security initiatives and systems that partner with other engineering functions and business units.
  • Strong knowledge of Networking concepts including OSI model, TCP/IP, IPSEC, VPN, and SSL and other networking protocols, routing technologies etc.
  • Network tools and Packet Capture Analysis: Gigastore, NETMri, and RSA ACE/Network, Fiddler, Wireshark etc.
  • Ability to articulate and prioritize security risks related to specific processes
  • Knowledge of security standards
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Solid troubleshooting skills with ability to effectively work in cross functional teams as needed to resolve issues
  • Attention to detail in work plan and policy preparation
