job summary:












Engineering support for operations and manufacturing production. 3 years of experience are required.



Job Description The candidate will support the OEM Sustaining and New Product Introduction aspects of the Transceiver Module Group. As a member of a vibrant

team comprised of very strong individual contributors - the Transceiver Module Group is

responsible for the development, qualification and lifecycle management of the pluggable

optics portfolio within Cisco.



With over 450 unique products and a constant evolution of new designs and evolving

standards the candidate will bring a foundation of skills to the myriad of tasks at hand.

Candidates must demonstrate:

- An ability to multitask - be able to work on 10-20 projects simultaneously

- Must possess good time management skills

- Must possess strong documentation skills

- Must have Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio fluency

- Must be a self-starter - able to find and digest a substantial portfolio of specifications

- Must be capable of engaging others to drive to solutions (conversations, emails,

conferencing)

- Must have Agile MRP experience

- Must be interested in basic Computer Science principals

- Hexadecimal and ASCII coding

- Memory Mapping techniques

- I2C and MDIO Bus architectures

- A familiarity with the Python Programming language is desirable (any programming is

great!)



The day to day aspects of the position involve attending development team meetings

representing the Manufacturing aspects of the organization. This involves having a

critical eye on the deliverable and its ability to scale to volume production. The candidate

will:

- provide product MRP structure support

- participate in the dialogue as needed to ensure a clean

release

- review Engineering test reports

- Perform First Article Inspection and create the "living" FAI

documentation

- Review MFG Pilot data (comparison to the FAI report for

accuracy)

- perform Agile MRP steps to move designs from Prototype

to Qualified state - and more

- Create Summary PowerPoints to move designs to full

production In addition the product lifecycle management

involves:

- Support Escalations/Field issues to ensure Cisco Customers

are always in great shape

- Maintain AVL status for products that are transitioning to

End of Production states

And all this will be done multiple times during any given period - thus the Multitasking

requirement. It is a team effort with lots of opportunity to grow and expand your

knowledge in the hottest growth market in the industry.
