Senior Cisco Unified Communications Engineer
The Senior Cisco Unified Communications Engineer will be working onsite at downtown or midtown office and be the primary point of escalation for any issues regarding the company's UC service based on Cisco's UC suite. In addition, he/she will work with the company on evolving the service as required, including but not limited to business case analysis, recommendations and overall design, engineering, implementation and troubleshooting of the Cisco UC environment.
This position regularly influences internal and external customers to achieve a mutually desirable outcome. This position will make recommendations to internal parties and customers with regard to concerns or issues and ensure resolution of any problems, working closely in conjunction with assigned team members. This position requires regular planning to support incoming Customer issues. This position must regularly communicate answers to complex questions and respond to detailed inquiries. This position may sometimes handle and is expected to protect all internal and external confidential information and must utilize discretion and judgment based on company policies and procedures.

-Receive, triage and remediate escalations from daily/day 2 support
-Troubleshoot complex issues
-Perform regular and emergency system maintenance, including execution of patching and upgrades
-Evaluation, assessment, and vetting of patching and upgrades of:
-Cisco UC applications
-Cisco Endpoint Firmware.
-Work with TAC on issues that are not resolved within a 24-hour period.
-Escalation with vendors
-Draft CRs - impacting
-Dial plan maintenance
-Complex documentation including:
-NES documentation requiring research including:
-Continued interoperability between applications and 3rd party solutions -
Changes / Upgrades.
-Compatibility - Changes / Upgrades
-Firewall Port requests
-Departmental Requests (IAB, JOC, EEO, RTCC, School Safety, Payroll,
-Complex Call Flow design
-Maintaining system utilization and adjusting for optimization
-Major Dial plan modifications
-Review and approve all CRs
-Business Use Case Analysis
-New feature design and implementation
-Third party application PoC / implementation support
-7+ years experience with Cisco UC suite.
Technical Certification Preferred
-CCIE Collaboration Certified current or in progress
Skills & Additional Qualifications :
-Excellent customer facing skills especially with VIPs
-Excellent communications skills
-Bachelor's degree required.
-7+ years working with Cisco collaboration suite.
-5+ years managing complex, multi-thread projects.
-Thorough understanding of designing a Cisco collaboration environment with focus on UC.
-Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
-Outstanding organizational skills.
-May require occasional physical labor including lifting.
-Requires extensive sitting, standing and walking.
-Limited weekend and/or night work may be required.
-Domestic travel requiring multi-night stays within and at times outside the local work area.
-Valid U.S. driver's license is a requirement and must have a positive driver's abstract. -Current valid U.S. Passport is desirable.
