Security Analyst - Info Sec

job summary:
As an IT Security Analyst, you will be responsible for implementing and verifying information security processes to protect the company against the breach of protected information and unauthorized intrusion into its network and systems. On our team, you'll have the support to excel at work and the resources to build a career you can be proud of.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Implement and execute appropriate standardized procedures to ensure the security of systems and data, including credential audits and system monitoring
  • Monitor IT systems, report suspicious events and take appropriate action to resolve security issues
  • Work with other members of the Information Security Governance Team to analyze and audit processes and other information sources to evaluate compliance with multiple regulatory standards as well as risk management objectives
  • Audit system and application configuration and activity; complete forms and update databases to track activity
  • Provide second-tier support to the Support Center for information security issues
  • Work with internal customers to provide consultative services related to information security
  • Participate in implementing, executing and testing information security processes; use observation and initiative to identify potential security vulnerabilities and risks
  • Assess security and business impacts of potential events or conditions; assist with the implementation of information security solutions
  • Work within the parameters of our established ISO/IEC 20000 and 27001 compliance objectives.
What you need to succeed:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of experience in information security or related field
  • Strong computer skills including multiple operating systems, and Microsoft Office Products
  • Understanding of information security, IT system and networking concepts
  • Strong analytical, organizational and decision-making skills
  • Strong data analysis skills including querying, analysis and reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills; ability to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with people in remote locations
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow specific processes
  • Be a self-starter and able to manage multiple projects at a time.
It'd be great if you also have:

  • Professional certification in the information security field, e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Training or certification in ISO/IEC 20000 or 27001
  • Strong project management skills with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target dates
