Sr. VMware Engineer
Our client is seeking an experienced VMware Engineer / Architect to provide expertise to the organizations VDI Ops team. Opportunities to be involved in heavy architecture, design and implementation efforts along with an influence on the virtual desktop environment. This is a problem solving role with the opportunity to persuade business partners on the right solution based on logic based arguments.

- Manage a staff of deployment engineers and shift support. - Architects and designs multi-site VMware Horizon VDI Technology with emphasis in compliance and resiliency/HA configuration. - Apply enterprise design principles and best practice for implementing and supporting VMware virtualization in an active- active in Cloud POD Architecture configuration both on-prem and in the cloud setting. - Supports overall health and capacity management of VDI environment and infrastructure that support it (Network, Servers, Storages and the like). - Performs capacity planning for VM VDI environment - Interfaces with Network Operations team to coordinate and schedule new implementations or maintenance initiatives - Produces detailed documentation including data flow diagrams, logical diagrams, and physical diagrams as required. - Configures or coordinates monitoring thresholds, alarms and alerts - Manage a small group of Engineers to support, maintain, upgrade VDI environment, training on latest technology and KT across the group and other group. - Creates or formulate automation across repetitive tasks and create standard build process. - Innovative with pragmatic approach to analyzing complex business needs, conceptualize, design and implement cutting edge solutions based on the latest virtualization, storage, and cloud technologies. - Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. - Create dashboards, reports, alerts and automated tasks within our current management toolsets. (Lansweeper, Solarwinds, VROPs, etc.) - Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies; investigate and troubleshoot issues. - Training and mentoring Tier I and II support. - Document and refine internal policies and procedures. - Partner with peers and management to make informed and sound strategic decisions. - Performance monitoring and proactive correction of problems. - Rotating on call duties a
