Capacity Planning, System Monitoring, and Performance
Plan, implement and monitor database storage.
Implement monitoring and scheduling systems for database jobs and processes.
Administer multiple server instances running on different operating systems and database management systems.
Manage and troubleshoot Cache in a clustered/multiple environment.
Establish a baseline for the database performance and monitor it on a regular basis.
Monitor database license usage.
Manage and troubleshoot Cache on AIX platform including application of patches and upgrades.
Manage and troubleshoot Cache on Windows platform including application of patches and upgrades.
Analyze current database information and architecture and recommend methods to improve performance of the database.
Troubleshoot production processes and solve problems in real-time.
Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
Assist development staff in identifying and correcting malfunctioning software.
Define, design and implement monitors and alerts to assure efficient operation of the database engines.
Assist customers and vendors in identifying, monitoring, and resolving applications performance issues.
Assist the team in establishing database escalation procedures and processes.
Develop scripts to automate the database administration related tasks.
Use tools effectively to administer the database management system (i.e. RedAlert, System Pulse, Environment copy utility, Detector, Log Analyzer).
Database Engine installation and configuration:
Coordinate and perform installation, maintenance, upgrade, and configuration management for all related database engines.
Develop diagnostics and disaster recovery plans in order to safeguard the integrity of the database.
Support and implement database migrations across environments.
Develop and implement database policies and procedures
- Experience level: Experienced
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- Education: Bachelors
- Database Administration
