Senior IT Data Reporting Analyst

job summary:
The Senior IT Data Reporting Analyst will report to the IT Manager of MI Support and will serve as the principal data analyst and processing advisor for all IT-maintained operational, regulatory, and ad-hoc reporting systems and repositories provided for business use. This position will interface directly with the Underwriting, Servicing, Billing, Claims, Financial, and Compliance reporting and analytical functions within the business and will work closely with IT development and support teams to analyze, design, develop, test, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain automated software solutions to support the data and systems or tools used.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all efforts for project development or critical production support issues that involve IT-provided reporting or analytical data or its processing
  • Interpret, document, and provide guidance on (to IT support teams) the purposes and uses of the systems, interfaces, and tools that are provided as IT solutions to the business for reporting and analytics
  • Provide guidance on all primary data repository contents and supporting data platform usages involved with essential reporting or analytics processing, including data integrations with all transaction-based systems
  • Collaborate with business analysts on analytical or reporting research and documentation needed to support development initiatives and projects
  • Develop and conduct mentoring/training sessions for business or IT resources as needed to improve the understanding of reporting data content and processes when needed in support of new development or support initiatives
  • Coordinate and assist with all disaster/recovery drill tests related to applications or systems that comprise essential processing for reporting or analytics

    Requirements/Experience:
  • BS/BA degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Mathematics or equivalent field
  • Minimum of 12 years of proven technical leadership developing and supporting software solutions
  • Minimum of 10 years of reporting technologies technical support experience using SAS, Linux, shell scripting, Oracle, SQL, data transfers and file systems
  • Prefer 7 or more years of industry experience with insurance (underwriting, claims, servicing) systems concepts, conventions, and solutions
  • Prefer 5 or more years of technical experience with server, storage, and data security administration concepts including the use of LDAP and its integration
  • Prefer 3 or more years of mortgage insurance processing experience
  • Prefer 2 or more years of experience with mainframe VSAM or DB2 data and exposure to Tableau
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and solve complex technical, processing, or data problems
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all business functions and build strong business partnerships
  • Passion for change and continual improvement and ability to effectively lead/drive change
