Sr. Project Manager/Business Analysis

job summary:
We have a 6 month renewable position for a Sr. Project Manager/Business Analyst with a client of ours in Durham. This role will involve 70% Project Management and 30% Business Analysis. We need someone with recent Agile experience running sprints. This resource will be managing a large process automation project including several different initiatives that will fall into the larger project. Experience on O365 and SharePoint is preferred. Experience with Stakeholder management and making sure projects are running smoothly are key.

Responsibilities:

Analyzes the operations of a department or functional unit with the purpose of developing a general systems solution to a business problem that may require automation. Specific duties include assessing the business model, improving/streamlining business processes, and integrating technology, as needed, with the business functions. Specific activities may include participating in client needs assessments as well as evaluating platform feasibility and business and technical software requirements. Position is responsible for reviewing business requirements and conducting impact assessments to understand business and application implications. May advise the client on improvement opportunities that solve business process and technical issues of varying complexities. This is technical and analytical work to develop, design, and/or analyze technical solutions for clients through an appropriate blending of technical knowledge and business problem solving activities.

Accountabilities: Interviews stakeholders in conducting requirement gathering, document requirements in the deployment of business solutions

Liaison with users in assessment, development, and testing of business solutions.

Develops and analyzes solutions to business issues, including review and writing of all relevant documentation, including but not limited to functional and technical design requirements.

Assists in overseeing the development of technical design requirements with developers, programmers, and external suppliers before initiating coding.

Writes and edits program and system documentation, user manuals, and training materials required to help people use and operate a system.

Collaborates and assists in the design of the front end user interfaces and interactive procedures / tools.

Conducts user training including the development of training materials and procedures to accurately document the approved business process.

Implements design and development of quality assurance standards to support organizational requirements.

Participates in improving internal processes with regard to systems and development initiatives.

Monitors internal programs, policies, and procedures and their effects.

Assists in ranking and prioritizing work requests

Develops knowledge of a client's industry, customers, and organization and business objectives in order to help the client in a problem-solving role. Assessing user requirements, procedures, and problems to create or improve a system.

Provides quality client support by, researching possible solutions to problems, and fostering open communication between the client and the project team.

Tracking software and documentation defects, performing application maintenance, and providing on-site consulting and training as required.

Works with system developers and designers to identify, diagnose, and document problems and errors in specific components of a system. Assessing how well a product adheres to its design, standards, as well as its usability and ability to meet business needs.

Manages and conducts some or all of the project phases to develop or modify a system application.

Serves as main liaison with users in assessment, development, and testing of business solutions.

Oversees development of technical design requirements with developers, programmers, and external suppliers before initiating coding.

Manages the development of and reviews test plans and test data for unit and integration testing.

Manages user training including the development of training materials and procedures to accurately document the approved business process.

Recommends best practices and tools based on design and development standards and quality assurance.

Participates actively in improving internal processes with regard to systems and development initiatives.

Applies in-depth understanding of the business and understands how to leverage software solutions to improve business processes. Mastery of procedure and technical writing.

Analyze complex data and identify trends to advise or recommend business improvements and customer solutions.

Can deliver complex projects using project management skills.

Defines scope and objectives for new site functionality or enhancement of system application.

Compiles and prepares summary of findings for Management and Business Owners and aide in implementation of process improvements.

Coordinates with management to determine project and task resource assessment, sizing, prioritization and timelines.
