Data Privacy Manager

job summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Data and Analytics, this role is responsible for leading the Data Privacy function throughout the organization. They will work closely with their leadership team and other departments in the adherence to Data Privacy standards and regulations. The primary focus of this role is to continue the deployment of the Data Privacy Charter, along with implementation and support of the appropriate privacy framework; including but not limited to administering data privacy impact assessments, implementing data subject rights workflows, ensuring data inventory and lineage aligns with data governance, and implementing consent management in our product solutions. Championing the Data Privacy cause is a core part of this person's daily life and requires that they develop strong relationships throughout the organization.

What will you be doing?

  • Manages and drives adoption of the Data privacy function throughout the company
  • Lead design and roll-out of new Privacy by Design standards
  • Contribute to enterprise data rights strategy and prepare communications for executive leadership
  • Drive the delivery of a privacy capability framework, and support maturity model assessments
  • Work with Information Security, cybersecurity, and Legal to conduct Data Privacy readiness assessments
  • Participate and contribute to our enterprise data governance program
  • Lead in the development and implementation of a company-wide Privacy training program
  • Identify, document, and support initiatives necessary for compliance with global and local data privacy laws and regulations
  • Contribute to strategies and initiatives to engage with key stakeholders and raise awareness of data privacy and security compliance and governance across the company
  • Act as subject matter expert and resource on issues related to privacy and data protection and regulations
  • Takes leadership in developing and maintaining privacy program, and related policies, procedures, documentation, and communication materials
  • Review issues related to data collection, use and governance
  • Review data protection impact assessments and other internal privacy assessments
  • Apply analytics and metrics to measure the progress, maturity and emerging risks of the data privacy program
  • Collaborate with our technology teams to understand requirements for Consent Management systems
  • Collaborate with our technology teams to manage roadmap of Privacy compliance changes
  • Work with Vendors to select and implement appropriate tools in order to operationalize Data Privacy
What skills/qualifications do you need?


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Work Experience

  • Experience working with product teams on implementing Privacy by Design
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in the area of data privacy, data governance and/or applying regulatory policies to financial services or banking
  • Experience in financial services and/or banking industries
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in Leadership/working with leaders, with a focus on client facing delivery

  • Privacy Professional certification a plus
