Security DevOps Engineer
We are seeking a Security DevOps engineer who will join our SecDevOps team in continuously baking security into our cloud systems. The ideal candidate has extensive software development experience and has previously developed in a modern cloud environment in a fast-paced, agile environment. Previous experience in security is a plus, but this is also the perfect opportunity for a seasoned developer to gain security experience!
As a Security DevOps engineer you will work closely with developers and the Cloud Operations group (which includes SecDevOps) to embed security practices into every aspect of the development pipeline, empowering developers to easily develop securely. Our development philosophy is to enable developers to write secure code faster, not to hinder them with unsupported requirements. The cloud platform is a Kubernetes-based microservices architecture operating on Amazon Web Services, with a specific focus on developer productivity and building a very large scale and highly secure environment for creating and hosting a wide range of applications supporting our products.

Developing services to improve credential management
Streamlining the vulnerability discovery and patching process
Improving rulesets for various scanning tools
Create scripts and templates to build cloud-based development systems for our software engineers
Integrating reports with a web front-end extensively used by developers
Select and deploy open-source tools for monitoring and operations
Aid in anomaly detection, attack identification, forensics during security incidents
Work with developers to understand project specifics and expedite secure development
Stay up-to-date on security news, relevant technologies, plug into user groups, understand trends and opportunities to ensure we are using the best possible techniques and tools
Extensive experience developing and maintaining microservices in Python, Java, Go, or Ruby
Experience with public cloud providers and containerization, AWS and Kubernetes certification highly desired
Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services
5 or more years working in software development, security experience is a plus
Two or more years' experience in writing and deploying containers in cloud environments
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
