Our Claims department is seeking a Business Solutions Senior Project Manager to join our growing team in our Worcester, MA office.

Business Solution Project Management professionals combine project management disciplines with process engineering methodologies, financial analysis, business expertise, and industry best practices to collaborate with business leaders with the goal to provide, manage and implement project based solutions. This includes, but is not limited to, leading the development and refinement of project requirements, estimates, plans, and schedules. This role is responsible for the collection and analysis of business objectives, processes and procedures, and operational data in support of business unit customers. This professional will gather sufficient strategic, technical and operational information from internal business units and external vendors to ultimately understand and communicate the current business / project challenges and issues. In addition, this professional will incorporate internal and external best practices to recommend, design, and deliver process-based solutions and/or operational metrics. Once a project is set in motion, incumbents in the Business Solution Project Management job family are expected to communicate the status of major milestones, identify and classify potential project risk with mitigation strategies and contingency plans, provide continuing direction to the project team, and conduct regular status meetings with key stakeholders to review project activities. Furthermore, Business Process Project Management professionals are responsible for managing the procedures for scope changes (i.e., change management) and project acceptance. Incumbents obtain feedback throughout the project life cycle to ensure that customer expectations for schedule, cost, quality, and performance and goals are being achieved. In addition, the Project Manager is expected to work independently with minimal supervision have deep knowledge of Project Management and Process Improvement methodologies and practices and has mastered two or more dimensions of the job.

  • Facilitating the definition and gathering of business requirements
  • Creating project plans that include resources, time, and technology considerations
  • Determining staffing requirements for one or more project team(s)
  • Developing methods, procedures, and quality objectives, including metrics for assessing progress
  • Conducting project kickoff meetings, communicating individual roles and project expectations, and ensuring that all project team members have the tools and training required to perform effectively
  • Creating and updating detailed project plans and schedules, applying best practices, standards, and recommended tools as needed
  • Providing formalized, continuing work direction and leadership to assigned project team(s), including scheduling, assignment of work and review of project efforts
  • Monitoring project milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule
  • Proactively assessing variances from the project plan, gathering metrics, and developing and implementing changes as necessary to ensure that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost and quality objectives
  • Provides strategic insight into current and future business opportunities based on in-depth knowledge of internal and external best practices
  • Manage direct reports including goal setting, performance management, development planning and training
  • Conducts advanced correlative analysis between known business challenges and potential business opportunities across the enterprise
  • Presents feasibility study and business recommendations to business sponsor and/or executive leadership
  • Provides in-depth subject-matter expertise to the solution design in anticipation of potential future business opportunities and challenges
  • Designs highly complex business solutions that integrate with multiple business units across the enterprise
  • Leads the implementation of the business solution, including solution development and validation
  • Monitors post-implementation metrics and operational results to ensure ongoing quality performance
  • Develops key performance indicator framework and monitor business outcomes
  • Identifies and drives improvements to business processes that affect multiple operating units across the enterprise
  • Developing and delivers presentations of project outcomes to Business Stakeholders
  • Tracking client satisfaction levels, providing the project team with constructive feedback as it pertains to project performance
  • Working with development team to integrate systems development life cycle and project management process as needed
  • Maintaining a productive working relationship with project sponsors, vendors and key client(s).

  • Bachelor's degree in related field specialized training, or equivalent work experience
  • Project management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is strongly preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is strongly preferred
  • Typically requires 5 -10 years of project management experience
  • Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions
  • Strong process and data analysis experience
  • Management experience preferred.
