job summary:
Azure Help Desk/Technical Support needed for contract opportunity with Randstad Technologies client in Redmond, WA.

Responsibilities:

  • Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently
  • Must have experience working directly with individual customers, nurturing customer onboarding, and building relationships
  • Ability to actively listen to user problems and convey commitment toward finding a timely resolution of the issue.
  • Must have strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
  • able to produce professional, grammatically correct, correspondence.
  • present clear and consistent customer experience for each call, using verbiage that is, when appropriate, easily understood by non-technical customers
  • Ability to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical information, and translate for a non-technical audience
Daily Tasks

  • Initial and ongoing technical onboarding support for senior academic researchers and graduate students, central IT staff, as they are beginning use of Azure credits
  • Answer emails and troubleshoot through email & phone calls (10 hours per week)
  • Hold 1 hour-long office hour session hour twice per week
  • Hold 1 hour "getting started" webinars twice per month
  • Working with internal stakeholders and tools to discover and catalog info for a pre-built grantee-facing SharePoint (will not need to build the SharePoint infrastructure)
  • Onboarding grantees to Azure
  • Setting up & managing subscriptions in the Microsoft AIRs Portal
  • Loading credits into an enterprise agreement & advising on account setup, hierarchy & hierarchy constraints specific to loading credits in an EA
  • Speaking directly with central IT and coordinating between central IT and researchers to get credits loaded and provided to researchers through central It accounts
  • Providing insight on how to best disburse credits in a "classroom or lab' environment (one credit allotment to many users)
  • Helping individuals with an Individual Sponsorship Account understand how to access and utilize their credit allotment
  • For all credit scenarios, ability to point customers to relevant, supporting content
Technical support & advice on higher-level research work and Azure Basics including:

Subscriptions types


  • Azure Admin portal tour - understand account setup and management
  • Identity & Access management
  • Cost estimation, billing and chargeback
Azure Operational portal & understanding Azure services

  • Starting, stopping, scheduling VMs / Scalesets
  • Migrating client workloads into Azure from other clouds (public or private) as well as traditional on-prem solutions
  • Experience implementing and orchestrating containers such as Docker, Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of open source tools that run on Azure
  • Knowledge of programming language, such as Python, a plus
