Design Engineer

job summary:
Job Title: Senior Design Engineer

The engineer that fills this position will:

1) Create and validate logic and physical library components,

2) Validate library symbols created internally to Intel, both aspects are in support of Client Common Library (ICL) specifications for board design across different Client sites as defined by Client project manager and the Client Common Library specifications,

3) Provide design engineering support of system and board designs as outlined by board architects using Cadence HDL and PCB Designer.

The Designer Engineer is responsible for creating and modifying detailed drawings of printed circuits (layout) and/or electro mechanical systems. He or she may check design layouts and detailed drawings against product standards. He or she will provide input regarding scheduling and forecasting. He or she will maintain his or her own computer work environment and manage his or her own project files, including archiving files at the end of a project. All printed circuit board designs are design to Intel's DFM using both Type 3 and Type 4 technologies. Placement and Routing studies for new component breakouts would also be part of the job. CAD tools that are used are Cadence Allegro, Concept, and Orcad.

a. Tools: The Supplier will use the internal development tools that are used within Client along external tools such as Cadence HDL and design layout.

b. Licenses charges (if and when required) will be covered by Intel.

c. Quality: Performance against schedule - timely deliverables of library components and designs in accordance to predefined methodology and specifications.

d. Indicators- Supplier will provide Client completed project indicators.

The skills required will be as follows:

? Details oriented, ability to perform routine/technical tasks

? Good English (writing and speaking) that will allow effective communication with relevant Client contacts

? Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technical degree preferred

? Ability to read and interpret electrical datasheet specs and schematics

? Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings

Additional Skills and or education:

- Bachelor or a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent with more than five years of relevant work experience

- Strong experience in printed circuit board digital and analog circuit design

- Strong Verbal and written communication skills for specification development and interfacing with design, software, manufacturing, and Technical marketing engineers

- Ability to work independently

- Experience with electrical specifications for industry standard high-speed interfaces (eg. DDR3, SATA, HDMI, etc) HS diploma or GED equivalent required for US candidates.
