Position Description

  • We are seeking an Operations Program Manager to manage the daily operations for CS First (https://g.co/csfirst), Google's free computer science curriculum.
  • This role requires the ability to define, develop, distribute, update, and create repeatable processes/tools for the CS First product and team.
  • This person will be a 'force multiplier' by keeping projects, products and people more efficient.
  • They will help to formulate and execute on processes, as well as develop systems to help the CS First team execute changes and projects effectively.
  • We're looking for someone with a strong attention to detail along with the ability to multitask, and to think creatively about solving multi-faceted problems.

responsibilities:
Top Daily Responsibilities:

  • Optimize current processes to automate manual steps, consolidate similar processes, and write documents to enable repeatability and scaling of operations.
  • Oversee the execution of new processes and improvements.
  • Vendor management, inventory tracking, forecasting, and ordering of CS First materials.
  • Partner management of CS First professional development (PD) providers, including scheduling, invoicing, email communications.
Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage, organize, and facilitate updates to the CS First website content and professional development (PD) materials.
  • Interact with users via user support channels (email, support forums) and respond promptly and professionally to resolve issues while refining and optimizing the support strategy.
  • Maintain, organize, and manage shared team resources and infrastructure.
  • Leverage different tools and platforms to assist with more technical product operations tasks (with some guidance).

  • BA/BS Degree with 3-4 years of professional experience working in a project/program management capacity
  • Experience working with stakeholders/users within a specific product
  • Expertise using (and a love of) Google Spreadsheets, Documents and Presentations, OR similar, related collaboration tools

  • Strong writing, project management, and communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Tolerance for ambiguity
  • Self directed, able to perform tasks without a great deal of supervision
  • Break large problems into actionable pieces for novices to understand
