Payroll Analyst - Multistate

job summary:
The Payroll Analyst / Senior Analyst position is based in New York. The role is responsible for processing the US payroll to ensure compliance with domestic rules, regulations, and laws. This role will be a key employee resource for payroll matters and will perform other related duties as required.

Manage and process Global payroll [US, EMEA & APAC]

Ensure accurate payroll funding occurs for all accounts and payroll taxes are remitted on time

Manage year-end resulting in accurate W-2's, P11D's P45s, P60s and other countries tax reporting requirements

Partner with global HR Business Partners and HR Operations to ensure effective processes including process improvement and issue resolution

Create journal entries and ensure payroll entries are balanced and reconciled globally in a timely manner

Partner with other Payroll Analysts in cross training and reviewing the US and international payrolls

Audit data integrity between Workday HRIS and ADP Workforce Now, Streamline and Freedom Payroll systems as well as with reporting from global payroll providers to ensure all systems are in sync on a semi-monthly[US] and monthly [Non-US] basis

Develop, maintain, update, and communicate company-wide payroll policies and processes regarding earnings, deductions, time-keeping as well as government compliance reporting

Collaborate cross functionally within the organization with HR, Corporate Tax, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Treasury etc.

Monitor Payroll inbox for inquiries from employees, payroll providers, tax authorities, HR and other stakeholders as necessary

Assist with payroll tax inquiries, payroll tax audits and other audits such as 401k audits and Worker's Comp

Provide excellent customer service to our employees and business partners

Basic knowledge of Federal and State withholding, Internal Revenue Service regulations, HMRC, other government agencies and payroll best practices

Basic knowledge of international payroll processes and regulations

Ability to analyze, research and resolve payroll inquiries

Advanced Excel skills (vlooksup, pivot tables, etc.)

Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical mindset with good judgement and high level of attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent organization skills; ability to handle multiple priorities within deadlines is required

Strong customer-focus and ability to maintain confidentiality to payroll and other employee personal information

Ability to maintain employee confidence and to protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential

skills: Bachelor's degree required; or equivalent years of experience

3+ years of experience

US and Non-US Payroll experience (ADP WorkforceNow, ADP Streamline, ADP Freedom, Workday andlor experience with working with global payroll providers is a plus)

Experience with federal, state, foreign government and local statutory payroll audits is a plus but not required

Experience with accounting processes and month-end close including journal entries and reconciliations as it relates to payroll is a plus but not required

Basic knowledge of Sox controls
