job summary:
The Salesforce Administrator - Boston, MA will report directly to the Director, Client & Application Services. This person will support and train Year Up staff on our mission-critical enterprise applications. They will play a key role in ensuring the successful use of these applications by assisting users, providing feedback and training, and

contributing to on-going assessment of new tools.

As an ideal candidate for this role, you will be someone who has strong experience in managing and administering databases and data-driven applications. In

addition to the technical knowledge you can bring to the table, you will also be someone who is adept at communicating with a range of audiences and who has top notch customer service skills.

In keeping with Year Up's values, the Salesforce Administrator will also have the opportunity to interact with students as a coach, group facilitator, and advocate, participating in creating and sustaining a positive educational environment.

responsibilities:
Support and Training

- Provide excellent customer support to all staff on the use of the Year Up data systems and applications

- Manage a knowledge base system (FAQ's, "How To" Guides)

- Gain an understanding of Year Up's business processes and where the tools are used

- Provision new users and maintain access permissions settings

- Manage custom objects, fields, formulas, validation rules, custom workflow, and approval processes

- Leverage understanding of the Salesforce.com data model to determine how and when to create custom objects vs. using Salesforce out-of-the-box functionality

- Provide day-to-day support and guidance to end users to enhance and increase their knowledge of Salesforce.com, as well as other connected application systems

Data Management and Reporting

- Assist staff in analyzing and utilizing data

- Assist staff with changing parameters in reports

- Import and export data as needed

- Manage dashboards, views, reports in Salesforce standard and custom objects.

- Contribute to increasing data quality

System Analysis

- Work with development team to improve existing systems and establish new functionality

- Collaborate with business analysts to analyze end user business needs and evaluate proposed solutions

- Identify and recommend areas within business processes that can be improved via systems enhancements and automation

- Review object- and field-level security. Maintain role hierarchies and sharing rules to restrict access to users

- Run ongoing security and permission access verifications

- Manage existing Salesforce apps; experience with Conga, Click-and-Pledge, Form Assembly a plus Site Team/Learning Community Member

- Serve as a coach/mentor for students

- Join and sometimes facilitate weekly group sessions with students

- Participate in staff meetings and trainings

 
qualifications:
- At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience required

- Experience with Salesforce.com is required

- Salesforce Administrator (ADM201) certification required within 90 days of start

- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including solid written and verbal communication

- Strong problem-solving skills coupled with exceptional attention to detail

- Experience with Agile/Scrum Project Management a plus

- Demonstrated experience managing databases and data driven cloud applications

- Excited about technology and its impact, keeping abreast of industry trends and learning and adapting skill set quickly and accordingly

- Experience and comfort in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

- A professional and resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative and manage multiple tasks, relationships and projects

- Experience maintaining and updating system documentation and adherence to process

- Knowledge of web development, object-oriented programming, or API integration a plus

- A passion for working with young adults, an unshakable belief in their potential and a strong commitment to the mission of Year Up
