The candidate is expected to lead a design team in two or more locations; coordinate with program teams for requirements, design approval, drawing release procurement, installation, and checkout; work with design teams to determine data requirements for telemetry and postflight; coordinate with suppliers; flight test instrumentation operations support; and track/report status. Experience should include CAM/EVMS along with flight sciences and mission systems instrumentation system design.

The applicant will be the engineering liaison for flight test and instrumentation modification activities. The candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, integration, and operational support activities for data acquisition. This includes designing instrumentation systems, releasing engineering documents, work instructions, supporting airworthiness documentation, monitoring fabrication activities, and supporting aircraft checkout and flight operations.

The candidate should be familiar with integrating various sensors into a data acquisition system.

This position requires occasional travel and odd, weekend or overtime shift work on an as-necessary basis.

Industry: Avionics, flight testing data acquisition and analysis

Development Processes: Structured (e.g. DO-178B like), preferred

Development Environment: Typical lab instruments (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic & spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.)

Other: CAD programs such as CATIA, Autocad, etc.

Other: Instrumentation standards (IRIG 106), avionics bus protocols, GPS and IRIG time standards, etc.

Required Skills:

BSEE, BSCE or similar with 5+ years of experience in system engineering.

Expertise in data capture and analysis of flight testing data using instrumentation standards (IRIG 106).

Expertise using common lab instruments.

Experience with CAD programs (CATIA, Autocad, etc.)

These would be a plus:

Knowledge ot CAM/EVMS

Knowledge of calibration methods and evaluation of both mechanical measurements and electronic sensors.

Experience with video protocols and compression

Familiarity with military aircraft technical data, maintenance practices, flight operations, military stores and munitions is a plus.
