job summary:
Our company is looking for Python Software Support candidates at our Dublin, OH office. We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic, intelligent individuals with a "Can Do" attitude that are willing to learn and grow within our company. The position is primarily responsible for providing software support and will be part of an on-call support rotation to troubleshoot and resolve customer reported technical and operational issues. Additional duties include some software QA testing and travel for onsite implementation. The most important attributes we are looking for, in order of importance: 1. Experience troubleshooting and problem solving 2. Customer service-friendly personality 3. Command-line familiarity with Linux 4. Writing and troubleshooting SQL queries 5. Bachelors' degree in a related field We prefer candidates with a Bachelors' degree and 1-3 years of experience but may consider candidates who lack a 4-year degree but have 4+ years of experience. The ideal candidate has good personal communication skills, and is comfortable doing remote technical support, including some over the phone. You'll need to develop an understanding of complex systems, where a problem in one area, combined with a misconfigured system setting, could cause an error message in a log file on a different server. You realize that complex systems can have complex problems. You are good at getting to the root cause of the issue, even when Google doesn't have the answer. You know when to keep digging, and when to ask for help. The ideal candidate has solid enterprise technical support experience. You can debug and diagnose, not just look up the solution in a knowledge base and hope there is a patch already available. You have experience documenting and articulating your recommendations while providing technical support to customers. You know when a bug is important and when it's minor. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide customer support to help assist with operational and system issues - Take ownership of technical issues, working with our Development group to resolve more advanced issues when necessary - Resolve escalated customer complaints with minimal need for team lead intervention - Document troubleshooting and problem resolution steps - Review source code as necessary for troubleshooting - Participate in providing training to customers as required - Take responsibility for multiple tasks in multiple projects - Participate in after-hours on-call customer support rotation - Ability to travel approximately 25% of the year to support customer implementations
