Oracle Engineer 2

job summary:
Client is seeking a software engineer to join their Finance Technology team as they intensify the pace of innovation and support future growth through technology solutions. The software engineer will be responsible for designing, building & optimizing applications that support

critical financial/accounting functionality for client.

A day in the life...

· Design & collaborate with partner teams.

· Define & build data sources, data mappings, & integration points across a diverse application portfolio

· Demonstrate thorough knowledge of technical concepts, issues, trends & best practices as they relate to Oracle technologies & system integrations.

· Identify performance issues; apply knowledge of security coding practices & secure system fundamentals.

· Preparing documentation, such as Technical Design Specifications.

· Providing production support. This includes troubleshooting break/fix issues, resolving technically complex software defects, & conducting performance tuning.

· When required, logging Service Requests with Oracle & working with Oracle to resolve defects.

· Providing assistance, coordinating & troubleshooting with side system analysts, developers, & business owners for interface support.

· Participating in code reviews & ensuring compliance to development standards & best practices. Applying standard development practices throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).

· Potential involvement in complex development work & application patches.

· Responsible for maintaining the health of the technology portfolio & looking for simplifications/efficiencies.

· Reviewing requirements & participating in the definition of solution options.

· Review/enhance existing interfaces/integrations, customizations, OAF enhancements & Oracle custom reports.
