Our client is looking for a SQL Developer to join the Product Development team and contribute to exciting data analytic products. The Product Development team at our client offers a fast-paced environment with a fun, collaborative culture.

work hours: 9am to 5pm
education: Bachelors

  • Manage and administer Our Client's databases
  • Develop scripts, perform database support activities, conduct performance tuning and database design
  • Extract, organize and integrate different data sets in SQL
  • Provide creative and efficient solutions to challenging data management and data reporting tasks
  • Investigate and apply new tools and solutions
  • Improve existing processes through automation and scripting using T-SQL (e.g., Stored Procedures, SSIS packages, etc.)
  • Support ad hoc data reporting, data analysis, and other troubleshooting activities
  • Work in an agile development environment, leveraging sprints to develop proof-of-concepts for new data products
  • Contribute in product brainstorming sessions (e.g. strategy development, business models, user engagement)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or another quantitative field
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to work locally in our client's Washington, D.C. office

  • Proficiency in various scripting languages (VB, PHP, Python, Perl, R)
  • Solid grasp of statistics and data analysis techniques (including clustering, hypothesis testing, regression)
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as QlikView or Tableau
  • Familiarity with Scrum/Agile
  • Familiarity with front-end data visualization techniques (e.g. JavaScript, D3.js, .NET)
skills: Skills

  • Fluent in relational databases and Data architecture concepts (including schema design principles and best practices for scalable systems)
  • Strong SQL Server skills (including ability to write a script to do almost anything and strong systems-level debugging)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Excel and VB/VBA
  • Ability to maintain and update existing SQL Scripts and SSIS packages
  • Knowledge of database server administration (including managing users, permission, backups, recovery, monitoring, and replication)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
